Who are At–Risk Youth and What can we do to help them? These two questions have formed the foundation of why Radiate Ministry was formed.
The answer to the first question that kept coming to us, after months of prayer and seeking discernment of God’s Will, was that Fatherless Children and At-Risk children are one in the same. And just when we thought we had a direction for this ministry, God took the whole process one step further by leading us to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, where 82% of the youth are Fatherless. This has become our immediate Mission Field.
As Jesus states in Matthew 25: 35, 36, 40,
35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
Many of us consider the sick, the homeless, the imprisoned an unsavory segment of society. Yet Jesus sought these people out and equated them to Himself.
